How can I order your hosting service?
Just a few easy steps:

1. Go to the "Domain Check" page to to find a suitable domain.

2. Fill out the order form making sure you include the hosting plan you want and the domain name you want registered OR transferred.

3. Make a payment!

That's it. As soon as your payment is received, your account would be setup instantly and you will receive all the details to setup and manage your site via email.

 

I don't know how big my website would be, which plan should I go for?
I would suggest you go for Plan 1. Most people don't realise it, but websites take very little space. The average website on the internet today uses less than 50MB of space. If at anytime, you want to upgrade your plan later after signing up, this can be done easily and hassle free.

 

What payment methods do you accept?
At the moment, our main payment method is Paypal. If you don't have one, click here to register. You can also pay using a credit or debit card via paypal. You DO NOT need to open a paypal account to pay with a credit or debit card via paypal.

Do you have a money back guarantee?
Yes, we have a 30 day money back guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with the service you have received from us, raise a support ticket in your online account manager giving us your feedback and opinion and you would receive a complete and prompt refund. Your account must be in good standing and must not have been terminated for violation of our Terms of Services to receive a refund.
Please note that only hosting fees can be refunded and not domain registeration fees.

 

How can I create my website?
There are many ways to creating your website

  • You can use the FREE HTML Editor software: NVU. More Info...
    with NVU you can create web pages and manage a website with no technical expertise or knowledge of HTML
  • You can use our FREE Online SiteBuilder. More Info...
  • You can use the simple online WYSIWYG "Html Editor"
    (available for customers in File Manager of CPanel.)
  • Of course you can use any other web development software you like such as FrontPage, Dreamweaver...

How do I upload files to my website/webspace?
All hosting accounts come with FTP (File Transfer Protocol) which allows you to upload files to your account via an FTP client. Almost all site design programs use FTP to maintain your site.

 

Is there a minimum contract period?
There is no minimum contract period although we do offer you the option to pay the hosting fees annually.

Can I change from one plan to another?
Yes. Changing plans is easy and can be done instantly. Just log into your account and raise a support ticket

 

Do you allow adult content on your servers?
Pornography and sex-related merchandising are expressly prohibited on Hostlings.net servers.
Also we don't allow: pirated software (warez), Non-Licensed MP3's or Software, Hacker programs or archives.
Spamming, or the sending of unsolicited email, from our server or using an email address or domain that is maintained on our machine as reference is STRICTLY prohibited.

Do you provide technical support?
We would provide customers with technical support for any problems related to services or tools that are offered by Hostlings.net. If you require any technical support, we have a very comprhensive support section and you can also raise a ticket via your online account manager.

 

Do you handle the Domain registration process?
Yes, we offer domain registeration and transfer services for as little as $9.95 per year for the common domain extensions i.e .com, .net, .org, .co.uk
If you wish to register another domain extension not listed in the order form, please contact us for assistance.

Who owns my domain when I register it through you?
You do. You, or the person you specify when you sign up, will be listed as the administrative and billing contact on your domain and will retain full control over it at all times via your online account manager.

 

Who transfers my existing domain to your server?
If you wish to change your domain registrar to us, then you can do this by trasferring your domain when signing up. However, if you want to retain your current registrar, then you would be responsible to make sure your domain points to our servers by contacting that registrar. We would provide you with the nameservers needed to make this change on sign up. If you need further assistance, then don't hesitate to contact us.

I own several domain names, can I use them all on one account?
Yes, you can.
You can transfer as many domains or register as many domains as you want and manage them within your online account manager. You would be able to change the contact information, or change the DNS if you wish.
You can also point up to 5 domain names to any one account you have with us. Contact us if you require more than this.

 

Domain expiration. How to renew domain name?
If you registered your domain with us, you can check the expiration date by logging into your online account manager. Here, you would also be able to renew it and/or add more years to it at any time. Please note that UK domains require minimum of 2years when registering or renewing.

If your domain was registered by another registrar, you would have to contact them to have it renewed or have it transfered to us for more domain management options.
